A roofing company located in downtown Greeley will select a local first responder to receive a free roof before Thanksgiving.
First responders serving the city of Greeley can apply themselves, or be nominated by someone else, at bit.ly/1stResponderGiveback21. There will be no charge to the homeowner, according to the company.
Travis Bare, who opened T Bare Roofing more than a year ago, said the company plans to do something every year to give back to the community.
“I believe that the best way to get involved with your community is giving back,” Bare said. “In this case, it’s first responders because of COVID the past couple years. I think they put their lives on the line to save others, and that’s the least we could do.”
Eligible first responders include police, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, hospital staff, doctors, nurses and any medical professional.
Bare, a Timnath resident, said he’s experienced a lot of medical issues over the course of his life and was a pre-med student, so he knows something about what first responders go through, from the hours they work to the level of stress they face on the job.
“I just think it’s a good deed, and they’ve been through a lot the past couple years,” he said. “If this helps, I’m psyched. If this means something for our community, we’re happy.”
T Bare Roofing, located at 719 7th St., serves areas including Greeley, Windsor and the Front Range, as well as the Cheyenne, Wyoming, area. Both residential and commercial roofing services are available, as well as other services. For more information, go to tbareroofing.com.
